Sayonara Elder Wheeler

On Sunday 8th December Jayme was set apart as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was also his 19th birthday. He would be leaving for 2 years at 9.30am the following morning. We were all very excited for him and very emotional. Excited for him as this had been his goal he had been working towards for a number of years but emotional to see him actually go and thinking that 2 years seemed like such a long time til we would see him again.

We arrived at the airport at 7.45am with lots of friends and family.
There were a lot of tears and hugs and smiles.

We went downstairs with him to say our final good byes. It was harder than I thought it would be. I really wanted to respond when he said his final I love you but the words wouldn't come.

Sayonara Elder Wheeler, see you in 2 years
